Our facilty has a very long and extensive history. Arkham was named for Amadeus Arkham's mother. Amadeus founded the asylum after his mothers untimely death do to mental illness.
After elizabeth arkham's husband died, her son, Amadeus became the sole caretaker for her. Elizabeth mental state was declining rapidly, she was plagued by demntia, and more often than not, bedridden. In 1920 Elzibeth had slashed her own throat, by this time Amadeus had become an aspiring psychiatrist. He inheirted the house which he turned into an asylum, dedicated to accommodating and helping people suffering from severe mental illness, in memory of Elizabeth.
